Dr. Nagi Idris, presently providing his services as Head of the School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, Omar Al-Mokhtar University, Albeida, Libya, which has approximately 1000 students in total on its undergraduate courses. In this role Dr Nagi Idris responsible for the leadership, management and development of the School. A key undertaking of this role is to ensure that all of our students gain a first class education that ensures their employment prospects and equips them to be the leaders in pharmacy and the pharmaceutical sciences of tomorrow. It is my job to create the conditions that allow students and staff to excel. Previously Dr Nagi Idris have been academic staff member of the School of Pharmacy, University of Bradford, UK and a senior research scientist work on schizophrenia and Alzheimer’s disease projects managed by B-neuro. He collaborated with global pharmaceutical companies, bio-techs to identify targets and validate novel compounds to advance into clinical trials. Dr Nagi Idris contributed significantly towards the development of new methods for testing novel agents for their efficacy to improve this unmet clinical need. Participation in internal and external networks; in particular collaborations with an extensive group of academic and industrial groups in the wider field of schizophrenia and Alzheimer’s disease research, including GlaxoSmithKline, Lundbeck, Neurosearch, Merz, Forest and Takeda, Johnson and Johnson, Rocha, Pfizer, Biodynamic, Oragnon, Eisai and Autifony. Regularly present novel data, spoken in symposia at national and international conferences and prepare papers for publication.
