Dr. Umashankar Lakshmanadoss MD, is a faculty at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, USA. He is also serving as Director of Inpatient Consult Service, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical center. He earned his medical degree from TN MGR medical university, India and completed his post graduation training in Internal Medicine at Madras medical College. He also got trained in Internal medicine at Unity Health System, affiliated to University of Rochester, USA. In addition to be an excellent clinician and teacher, his objective is to become a clinical researcher – to bridge the “vital gaps” in the delivery of the evidence-based care to the patients. His areas of interests include sudden cardiac death and therapeutic hypothermia, improving the evidence based management for heart failure and device based therapies for heart failure and its complications. He has presented in various prestigious conferences like American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology Conferences. Dr. Umashankar Lakshmanadoss has been honored as a reviewer for American Journal of Cardiology, Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, Cardiology research and practice, Journal of Hospital Medicine, Diabetes Technology and Therapeutics Journal, Webmed Central, The Open Epidemiology Journal and as an editor for the Annual house staff Academic Review, Unity Health System, University of Rochester, USA.
