Dr. Godfred A. Menezes

Dr. Godfred A. Menezes is currently working as an Assistant Professor & Scientist in the esteemed Hail University, in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is an international visiting faculty in a couple of Institutes. He has set up Central Research Laboratories, including karyotyping station, in couple of Institutes. He has worked as a faculty of Microbiology in various Medical Institutes (in India and Mauritius) and also a Paramedical Institute in India. He has worked as a Scientist in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He was as a Junior Research Fellow and Research Scholar in the Institute of National Importance, The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry, India. He has also worked as a short term research worker on nanoscience in the renowned Indian Institute of Science (IISc, Bangalore, India).

He has been working extensively on molecular characterization of Enterobacteriaceae members, particularly extended and expanded spectrum beta-lactamase producing bacteria and fluoroquinolone resistant bacteria and Diagnostic & Food Microbiology.

He has done his post-graduation in Medical Microbiology from Kasturba Medical College (KMC- MAHE University), Mangalore, India. He has published several research articles in PubMed indexed, peer-reviewed international Journals. He has delivered talks and also presented many posters and papers, in different National and International Conferences. He has won travel grants from Indian Government funding agencies (ICMR, DBT and CSIR) for International conferences for presenting papers and to visit as an invited speaker.

He was awarded his doctorate by the honorable Prime Minister of India, in the convocation held in JIPMER. He is awarded the rapid grant for young investigators (RGYI) grant from DBT, Government of India. He is a recognized PhD Guide under Bharathiar University, Government of Tamil Nadu, India.

He is in the panel of reviewers and in the editorial board of more than dozen reputed, peer-reviewed Medical and Science Journals. He is also an Assistant and Associate Editor of couple of Journals. In recognition for research activities and medical teaching, Marquis Who's Who has published his biography in 2011 and 2014th Edition of Who's Who in the World, the world-renowned reference directory by the publisher of Who's Who. Dr. Anna Lange Consiglio

Dr. Anna Lange Consiglio, born in Piacenza on July 3th, 1962, is assistant research professor and laboratory manager of Reproduction Laboratory at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Milano (Italy). He graduated in Animal Science (110 magna cum laude) in 1986 and in the same year obtained a graduates position at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Milano. She developed several international collaborations like: 2006- Prof Flávio Vieira Meirelles, Universidade de Sao Paulo, Departamento de Ciências Básicas Pirassununga, SP, Brasil, project on ooplasm transfer and oocyte electrofusion and animal cloning; 2004- Prof. Leon Spicer, Department of Animal Science, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma,USA. project on the effects of environmental pollution and endocrine disruptors on ovarian folliculogenesis in the swine model; 1998- Animal Reproduction Group, Central Queensland University, Rockhampton, Australia: project on pituitary down-regulation by a long term GnRH analog administration; From 1986 up to date, Dr Anna Lange Consiglio has published 116 papers including congress proceedings and peer reviewed articles in the field of the Biology of Reproduction aiming to clarify the connections occurring between male infertility and abnormal sperm chromatin packaging in mammals, studying the role of oxidative stress and apoptosis in influencing nuclear DNA damage in mature sperms. Many other papers regard biotechnology of reproduction in the bovine species including male and female gametes cryopreservation. Since 2008, Dr. Anna Lange Consiglio is responsible for the isolation, culture, expansion and characterization of mesenchymal cells isolated from umbilical cord and amnion in equine, bovine, canine and feline with the prospect of creating a stem cell bank in order to use these cells in regenerative medicine in the veterinary field.

Dr.Rajnikant Dixit

Dr. Rajnikant Dixit, is Ph.D. in Biotechnology from M.D. University, Rohtak, 2004. Following his Postdoctoral training at National Institute of Health (NIH, USA), he received Prestigious Fellowship award of 'Ramalingaswami Fellowship' sponsored by DBT, Govt. India. Currently, he is serving as Scientist (Ramalingaswami Fellow) at National Institute of Malaria Research, Delhi, India. Since Ph.D., he is working in the field of molecular and functional genomics of mosquito vectors transmitting infectious diseases viz. malaria, dengue etc. He is also member of editorial board/reviewer for many scientific journals. His research work is focused to understand the molecular genetics of the vector competence and innate immune responses, affecting parasite development and transmission. For advanced studies, he established and heading Host-Parasite Interaction Biology Group, at NIMR. Many valuable findings, especially novel molecular immune targets credited to many high impact publications. Recently, first time his group demonstrated that mosquito salivary glands harbors more diverse microbial communities than gut, in contrast to the previous belief, that non-gut tissue may have lesser microbial load. He is also receipt of prestigious award of Rapid Grant for Young Investigator (RGYI), as an independent Principal Investigator.

Dr. Regina Menezes

Dr. Regina Menezes, began her scientific career with BSc and MSc degrees in Biological Sciences – Genetics followed by a PhD in Genetics at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and Heinrich Heine Universität Düsseldorf (HHU). During her PhD she studied the molecular switch governing galactose metabolism in yeasts. In 2003 she joined the Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica (ITQB) in Portugal as a postdoctoral fellow aiming to broaden her expertise in yeast biology, particularly in the field of metal stress responses. She is currently affiliated to Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica (iBET)/ITQB. Her work is focused on the study of the molecular mechanisms underlying human diseases as well as cellular protection mechanisms triggered by phytochemicals using humanized yeasts models of neurodegeneration, inflammation, cancer, type II diabetes and hematological diseases. She has participated in seven national and international research projects aiming at deciphering the molecular networks governing yeast stress responses. The most recent is the EC-funded project BacHBerry-FP7-KBBE, whose main objective is the bioprospection and synthetic production of berry phenolics in bacterial factories. She has published seventeen papers in international peer-reviewed journals, one book chapter and sixteen abstracts in peer-reviewed international journals. She has also actively participated in many international and national scientific meetings, in which she has delivered seven oral presentations and presented more than twenty-five posters. She has supervised one post-doc fellow, two PhD students, six young researchers, three MSc students and several final-year undergraduate students. She has participated in the Editorial board and as ad-hoc referee of several scientific journals and her active participation in the EU Proteostasis COST Action and EU consortium projects have made possible building a wide collaboration network

 

 

Dr. Mujde Eryilmaz

Dr. Mujde Eryilmaz, is an Assistant Professor in Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Ankara University. She was a trainee at Division of Microbiology and Immunology, Department of Pathology, Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York-USA between May-September 2004. Infection prevention and control, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, new antimicrobial substances are included in her research interests. She has 14 publications in varied journals and 19 poster presentations at several scientific meetings. Currently, she is a member of the Editorial Board of International Research Journal of Pharmaceuticals, Research Journal of Biology, Enliven: Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety.

 

 

Dr. Mohammed S. Al-Mogbel

Dr. Mohammed S. Al-Mogbel, is currently working as Dean in the College of Public Health Faculty, in the esteemed Hail University, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He has done his PhD in Medical and Molecular Microbiology from King Saud University. His field of specialization is Medical Bacteriology. His Master thesis was on "Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus in Riyadh". His Ph.D. thesis was on "Evaluation of Traditional and Molecular Methods of Typing Isolates of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus". His current research interests are; antibiogram, nosocomial infection, infection control, and molecular typing. He has conducted several seminars and workshops and given several scientific lectures. He has several scientific publications in reputed and indexed journals. Additional responsibilities taken up as Dean of College of Public Health are Deputy Director and Head of Microbiology Section: Molecular Diagnostics and Personalized Therapeutics Unit: A newly established world class research center at the University of Hail, Saudi Arabia. The research center is equipped with the state-of-the-art modern technological equipments along with all the basic necessities. He is also a Director of Environmental Health Sciences research Unit (EHSRU) at the College of Public Health, University of Hail.

Dr. Umashankar Lakshmanadoss

Dr. Umashankar Lakshmanadoss MD, is a faculty at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, USA. He is also serving as Director of Inpatient Consult Service, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical center. He earned his medical degree from TN MGR medical university, India and completed his post graduation training in Internal Medicine at Madras medical College. He also got trained in Internal medicine at Unity Health System, affiliated to University of Rochester, USA. In addition to be an excellent clinician and teacher, his objective is to become a clinical researcher - to bridge the “vital gaps” in the delivery of the evidence-based care to the patients. His areas of interests include sudden cardiac death and therapeutic hypothermia, improving the evidence based management for heart failure and device based therapies for heart failure and its complications. He has presented in various prestigious conferences like American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology Conferences. Dr. Debajit Thakur

 

Dr. Debajit Thakur, is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Life Sciences Division, Institute of Advanced Study in Science & Technology, in Guwahati, Assam. His area of research is Microbial bioactive secondary metabolite/s, plant-microbes interaction (biofertilizer, biocontrol), Microbial enzyme and biotransformation. He has 4 ongoing projects as Principal Investigator, funded by Government of India.

The projects are, 1. Drug discovery from Actinomycetes of North Eastern India against neglected bacterial and fungal diseases (DST); 2. Exploration of microbial diversity associated with Tea Rhizosphere Soil and utilization for the production of plant growth promoting substances and bio-control of prominent fungal diseases and pests (DBT); 3. Exploration of Actinomycetes in soil of protected forest areas of Assam for antioxidant activity and its potential application against bacterial and fungal pathogens (ICMR); 4. Molecular Genetic diversity of HouttuyniaThunb. germplasms prevalent in North East India and screening for Antioxidant along with antimicrobial activity (DBT). Dr. Manisha Yadav

Dr. Manisha Yadav, is currently working as Assistant Professor, in the division of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at Ambedkar Center for Biomedical Research, University of Delhi. She did her Ph.D. from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India in 2005. She was awarded “Major General Amir Chand Medal for Research” for her PhD research. After her PhD, she joined as a Postdoctoral fellow and later as Research Assistant in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Glycobiology of Lund University, Sweden. She co-supervised several graduate and medical students at Lund University. She worked to investigate the molecular basis of host cell signalling in innate immune responses to uropathogenic Escherichia coli and the disease association of the responsible genes. Dr Yadav has published her research in high impact journals like Nature Medicine and PLoS Pathogen.

Currently, Dr Manisha Yadav is working to identify the host receptors and the host-parasite’s pathways involved in the symptomatic and asymptomatic sequelae and immune evasion caused by Trichomonas vaginalis, Sepsis and Urinary Tract Infections. In addition, she is working to identify the host molecules responsible for acute inflammation and particular virulence factors triggering the inflammatory pathway after Uropathogenic E. coli (UPEC) infection. Ultimate objective of her group is to identify the target molecule(s) either in the host or in bacteria that may be exploited for diseases therapeutics. Dr Manisha is a prolific reviewer in many of international peer review journals mainly in the area of Microbiology. She holds many academic and administrative positions in Delhi University and other Universities.

Dr. Manisha Yadav has been invited regularly for lectures in her area of expertise on institutional, National and international levels. Her awards are, Rapid Grant for Young Investigator Award (RGYI) from DBT, New Delhi. 2012; FAST track for Young Scientist Award from DST, New Delhi. 2011; Awarded Maggie Stephens Stiftelse for attending 60th Annual Conference of the Canadian Society of Microbiologists, at Hamilton, Canada. 2010; and Bill and Melinda Gates foundation ICOPA bursary for participating in IX International Congress of Parasitology, Glasgow, Scotland, UK, in 2006.

Dr. Ramesh Kandimalla, is a Postdoctoral fellow at the Radiation Oncology; Emory University; Atlanta; USA. He has done his masters in Biochemistry from Manipal University, Manipal, India. He did his PhD in Biochemistry from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. He has also worked as Postdoctoral fellow; Douglas Mental Health University Institute; McGill University; Montreal; Canada. He has more than 20 publications in reputed scientific journals. He has presented papers in renowned international conferences. The awards won are; 2014 ASIOA Gopala Krishna Memorial Junior Scientist Award in Biochemistry; 2013 Scholars-in-Training (SIT) Travel Award to the Radiation Research Society. Dr. Amer A. Taqa, is a Professor in the Department of Dental Basic Science College of Dentistry/Mosul university/Iraq. He has done MSc and PhD in Inorganic Chemistry. He has more than 20 years of teaching experience. Dr. S. Mohana Roopan, is currently working as Assistant Professor (Senior), in Organic Chemistry Division, School of Advanced Sciences, VIT University, Vellore – 632014, Tamil Nadu, India. His PhD thesis was on “Synthesis of nitrogen Heterocyclic compounds and their biological properties-Quinolines, Indolines, Quinazolinones, Luotonins”, done at VIT University, Vellore, T.N. India. His achievements are- In 2006: University III rank holder (8.6 GCPA out of 10). In 2009-2010: Three of my article is selected as most important reaction in organic and organometallic chemistry by WILEY-VCH Cheminform, which covers more than 200 International Journals. Dr. Rohit Seth

Dr. Rohit Seth, has done his post-graduation and PhD in zoology from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, India. He has been working primarily on Central Nervous System (CNS). He has done teaching or mentoring in Institutes such as, Guru Ghasidas Viswavidyalaya, Bilaspur (CG); College of Medicine, Florida State University (FSU) Tallahassee, FL, USA; and Tallahassee Community College (TCC) at Tallahassee, FL, USA. His research experience includes, Associate Professor/In-charge, Department of Zoology, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur (C.G.); Postdoctoral Research Associate: Department of Biomedical Science, College of Medicine, Florida State University, Tallahassee. Postdoctoral Fellow: Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences; worked as a Ph.D. student at Department of Zoology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India; Availed DAAD fellowship by German Academic Exchange Services; and awarded senior research fellowship from CSIR, New Delhi.

Recipient of Centre for Advanced Studies Fellowship, Department of Zoology, BHU, Varanasi, India, Sept 2000 to Dec 2001; 3. Recipient of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Fellowship for research anywhere in India, conducted by CSIR, 2002-2007; 4. Recently discovered and published novel anticancer molecules with activity against colon cancer using pharmacophore based drug screening. 2. Dr. Jayanthi Abraham

Dr. Jayanthi Abraham, is Associate Professor at Microbial Biotechnology Laboratory VIT University, Vellore India. She is interested in working with isolation of pesticide degrading microbes from vegetables and crops cultivated agricultural soil; soil which has been exposed to pesticide contamination. Wide range of unusual microbes have been isolated and employed in bioremediation of pesticides such as Chlopyrifos, Malathion, Monocrotophos, Endosulfan, Prophenophos and Cypermethrin. She also has experience in working with isolation and characterization of microbes from various effluents: Textile mill wastewater, Pharmaceutical waste water, Tanner effluent, sugar mill effluent and degradation of diesel.Another area of research she has been exploring recently is isolation, characterization of bioactive compounds from natural sources with antimicrobials towards drug resistant strains, anticancer compounds with cytotoxic effect against human carcinoma cell lines. Currently, in her lab work is in progress in isolation of compounds from bacteria belonging to the Phylum Actinobactera, Fungus and Peptides with antimicrobial potential from pulses. The effective compounds thus, obtained are being validated with bioinformatics tools including AutoDock 4.0, iGemDock and Simulation studies. She has also experience in biosynthesis of nanoparticles and their effect on clinical pathogens.

Dr. Manzoor Ahmed Thokar, presently giving his service as Professor, Microbiology, Omar Al Mukhtar University, Albeda Libya, He earned his MBBS from GMC Srinagar (NAAC Accredited University of Kashmir) in 1981 & MD (Medical Microbiology from SKIMS Deemed University in the year 1987. Dr. Nagi Idris, presently providing his services as Head of the School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, Omar Al-Mokhtar University, Albeida, Libya, which has approximately 1000 students in total on its undergraduate courses. In this role Dr Nagi Idris responsible for the leadership, management and development of the School. A key undertaking of this role is to ensure that all of our students gain a first class education that ensures their employment prospects and equips them to be the leaders in pharmacy and the pharmaceutical sciences of tomorrow. It is my job to create the conditions that allow students and staff to excel. Previously Dr Nagi Idris have been academic staff member of the School of Pharmacy, University of Bradford, UK and a senior research scientist work on schizophrenia and Alzheimer's disease projects managed by B-neuro. He collaborated with global pharmaceutical companies, bio-techs to identify targets and validate novel compounds to advance into clinical trials. He has completed his Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from Ganpat University in 2011. He has guided over 15 students in their research projects in various areas of Biotechnology like anti cancer drug screening of drugs of plant and synthetic origin, Isolation and purification of industrially important enzymes, Screening of microtubule targeting drugs of plant and synthetic origin etc. He is actively a editorial board member of several reputed national journals. He has published 3 articles in international journals, 30 articles in national journals and also published 2 books in international publication house. He has received Silver medal in the national level essay competition with the theme titled “Steps to Revitalize Pharmacy Profession in India” organized by PERD centre, Ahmedabad on 11 th December, 2009. He is also a active life member of several prestigious national societies like Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India (APTI), Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), In Pharm Association, Association of Pharmacy Professionals and Indian Society of cell Biology. His area of research interest are: 1. Elucidating the role of microtubule dynamics in cellular processes and screening of anti cancer drugs of synthetic and plant origin targeting microtubules, 2. Isolation and characterization of therapeutic proteins and peptides from microbial origin, 3. Design and development of cell based vaccines and their characterization by analytical methods. 4. Analysis and purification of therapeutic proteins produced by r-DNA technology.

Dr. Sameer Dhingra

Dr. Sameer Dhingra is presently serving at School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medical Sciences, and The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad. He has more than 15 years of teaching and research experience to his credit. He obtained his doctoral degree from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, India and Master's degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, India. Prior to this position, he has served as Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology, Swift School of Pharmacy, Rajpura, India. He has also served on Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technologies, Baddi, India in the capacity of Director, School of Pharmacy. His areas of interest include psychopharmacological and behavioral studies, medication safety, and promoting rational use of medicines among healthcare professionals. Dr. Maria Rambla-Alegre

Dr. Maria Rambla-Alegre finished her studies in Chemistry Degree at the University Jaume I (Castellón, Spain) in 2005. In her last-year student of the Chemistry Degree she was awarded with a grant to initiate her training as a researcher in the research group of Bioanalytical Chemistry at the Department of Physical and Analytical Chemistry at the University Jaume I. Afterwards, she got another grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science to carry out her PhD project entitled “Determination of antibiotics by micellar liquid chromatography in physiological and food samples” in the same research group. During this period she was also awarded a further two grants for research placements at the Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic) and the University of Ghent (Belgium). Finally, she obtained the doctorate in March 4th, 2011, with the maximum qualification: Excellent “Cum Laude”. She has already published 25 articles in reputable scientific journals and presented around 50 communications in international scientific recognized symposia. Her studies have essentially involved work on the development and validation of liquid chromatography procedures for the determination of several compounds, including quinolones, sulfonamides, and anti-retroviral drugs, among others, which were applied in pharmaceutical, biological and food matrices. Besides her exceptional knowledge in liquid chromatography, she has a sound scientific background in capillary electrophoresis, gas chromatography, sample preparation and optimization procedures that allows her to complement her investigations and has resulted in significant papers in the analytical chemistry field. The Bioanalytical Chemistry group has greatly benefited from Dr. Rambla-Alegre’s capabilities, as can be seen in recent publications in Journal of Chromatography A, Talanta, Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry and other specialized journals that directly represent her work. Recently, she has published a review of her PhD results in the Journal of AOAC International. Nowadays, she is working in the Separation Science group headed by the prestigious and international recognized Dr. Pat Sandra at Ghent University (Belgium). She is carrying out the control of genotoxic impurities in active pharmaceutical ingredients by on-line analytical techniques.

Dr.Samuel Carda-Broc

Dr.Samuel Carda-Broch is a professor in the Physical and Analytical Chemistry department at the University Jaume I (Spain) since 2002. He doctorate in 1999 at the University of Valencia (Spain) and then he carried out a 2 year postdoc in the Université Claude-Bernard-Lyon 1 (Lyon, France) in the laboratory of Dr. A. Berthod. He has also collaborated with Dr. D.W. Armstrong (Arlington University, Texas, USA) and Dr. M.C. García-Alvarez-Coque (University of Valencia, Spain). He has published several articles in scientific journals in the Analytical Chemistry field (Analytical Chemistry, Journal of Chromatography A, Analyst, Analytica Chimica Acta, etc) and participated in several international scientific symposia (HPLC, ISC, Euroanalysis, etc). Currently, he works on the development and validation of new methods for the determination of a variety of drugs in several matrixes (biological, pharmaceuticals and environmental) using micellar liquid chromatography (MLC) technique. Dr. Carda-Broch has also worked in the field of ionic liquids, and has used the counter current chromatography and gas chromatography techniques.
